Minority status get by 89 government-aided school

The National Commission on Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI) on September 13  ranted minority status to as many as 89 government-aided schools and one teachers training college in Kerala.

A three-member panel, chaired by Justice M.S.A.Siddiqui delivered the order that granted the minority status to these schools established and administered by Diocese of Kothamangalam. The schools are inErnakulumand Idukki districts of Kerala.

St ThomasTeachersTrainingCollegeat Mylakumbh was also granted a minority status in the same order.

Father Kuriankoe Kodakallil represented the educational institutions while the Standing Counsel of Kerala, M.T George represented the State before the three-member NCMEI panel. The other members of the panel were Dr Cyriac Thomas and Dr Mohinder Singh. Justice Siddiqui is also the chairperson of the Commission.
